I am one of the lurkers on this message board. Actually purchased the stock after a friend's recomendation and then googled to find this board and was very excited to find people who were knowledgable and enthuisiastic about this stock. I have learned a ton from you guys, but I have one question that I can't find an answer to.
If I own counterfiet shares, how are they actually worth anything? If I were to call my broker and ask for certificates, I can only guess that they would not be able to provide them. In fact I called my broker and they said that they don't actually hold the certs, that they would have to contact the transfer agent to get the certs. If that is the case, do I just rely on the short sellers to cover their short position once the stock goes up thereby canceling out the counterfiet share? I guess I am just wondering whether or not I should request the certs and what would happen if there is a large amount of counterfeit shares and no certs exist. Any help or direction to where I could find the answer would be appreciated.
Thanks for all the time you put into this board.

The problem is that the MM's increase the float by selling shares and then not buying them back within the 3 days that legally they are supposed to. Your shares have the same value as everyone elses, and when you sell they are identical to everyone elses. the only time there might be a problem would be if there were a buyout, then the MM's would have to pay in cash, whatever the buyout amount is. so if the buyout was for a $1 (for simplicity) and the MM's had 100% of the OS in an extra NSS, then they would have to come up with $700b in cash to pay off that buyout. That would of course bankrupt every single one of them, so they wouldnt pay. Thus would the insurance from your brokers kick in, and it would bankrupt many of them as well, thus would the govt come in to "assure" us that the market is still sovent, and pay us all off. That is the only time when anything could happen from have a "short" share to a "long" share. You will never know if yours are registered or not either, you can force the issue by asking for certs (which I did) then give them right back to the broker, that was you you know that your are real, even if yours are "shorted" right now, when you ask for the real shares your become real as they issue the certs for them dont worry about whether or not your shares "exist" they are identical to everyone elses. What we hope for is that they will eventuall be forced to cover (hope is word of the day) and that will push our price up...... Todd
