for what it's worth..
Hey everyone, I wanted to share what I discovered today.. I have an ET account and called Etrade but they couldn't tell me much of anything.
So I called the Amex general number today and the guy referred me to a girl in the "corp actions dividends" area of the Amex.
I called her up and she was very nice. Reason I called her is that I have a stock (what I know to be CIM shares) in my ET account but only with a CUSIP and no symbol. If I search ET for "CMKM" I see the Same CUSIP that is in my account but the one in the generic search says CMKM Diamonds, inc TENDER OFFER. I just wanted to get the bottom of this (yeah right, LOL)
so back to my call....
...before I could get the CUSIP out of my mouth to her, she said, does it start with "125...and is it for CMKX?" LOL.
I laughed and she proceeded to tell me that he had another call from a CMKX shareholder earlier today as well. I am not going to post her info as I don't want her flooded with calls, but she was very helpful.
She told me that from what she could tell the CUSIP # (125809996) is for what she found on "nasdaqtrader.com" (it's a pay site now apparently but she volunteered the data she found for me). She said the CUSIP 125809996 is assigned to what she actually spelled our for me (Casavant Mining International). At this time she couldn't find a symbol for the CUSIP but she did say that if it was planning to be traded or was going to be listed on the AMEX she couldn't tell me to which I told her, of course, you can't disclose that information.
She said something at the start of the call that she didn't elaborate on that was quite interesting and I should have asked more. She said "I see a scheduled payment for them" but she never elaborated what that means.
At any rate, I just called the Amex directly since Etrade wouldn't help me and they seemed to give a little more info but nothing of substance. Who knows what is going to happen at this point.
just wanted to share what I found...
oh yeah, she also gave me a direct 203 area code number to the NASDAQ so they could give me more info. I called the #, explained the situation, and the girl said, "only brokerages can call this line, I can't help you. You will have to call ETrade directly" - oh well LOL.
GLTYA!
go cmkx!
